With the advent of the Internet of Things, Open Innovation and other trends, companies need to change how they operate and engage with external players. Purchasing teams need to rethink their business models to be amongst the pioneers who will lead the current transformations.
The Internet of Things sees the emergence of smart cities, driverless cars, smart meters, automated warehouses, contactless payments, etc. In other words: chips, sensors and data will be in every object. This will bring profound transformation to our industrial system as a whole.
On the 17th of March 2016 we are organizing a 1-day workshop to go further on this topic. This workshop will build on the collective expertise within the EIPM network. It will use proven knowledge sharing techniques including a research initiative, peer-assist sessions and interactive exercises.
Over the past month we have started a research project to understand what will be the impact of the Internet of Things on the purchasing business model. During this workshop, we will:
Share our first research findings
Ask pioneering Companies and Executives to share their early experience with this transformation
Map together changes on our purchasing business models
Learn by solving problems brought by participants
